Starting a ink and toner company at the moment good idea or not? selling over the phone & face to face?

We would cold call to companies over the phone, beating their prices quite easily as our our research has found, and we will be arranging appointments to visit clients to sell face to face...Starting a ink and toner company at the moment good idea or not? selling over the phone %26amp; face to face?
Very difficult market to get into. Beating whose prices? Most companies buy at wholesale prices anyway and not retail because it is tax deductible.

Too many companies are going bust at the moment and companies have a habit of sticking to their regular suppliers.

Also have you got the power to buy 5 or 10 thousand units at a time, in cash? Because that is the only way you will make a profit.Starting a ink and toner company at the moment good idea or not? selling over the phone %26amp; face to face?
I'm all for enterprise, but unless you have good supply of your products and can guarantee good customer service and after sales service you don't stand a chance against all the thousands of companies already set up. Companies are reluctant to change suppliers, especially to non established companies as they can get supplies so easily either internet or phone through the big boys where they get guaranteed next day delivery and know they have no problems about returning goods if faulty etc.

Wish you well, but you need a good business plan, money behind you and a thick skin for all the rejections! Have you got a professional looking price list printed, business cards etc - you will need these definitely.
face to face, having people ring you up for sales can be very annoying to some, and if this is the case wont give your business a good image, get a few successful sales face to face then start looking at other means
